Chief Todd Germain’s Retirement Party

On September 1, 2022, after 30 years of devoted service, Chief Todd Germain will retire from the Portsmouth Fire Department. After starting his career in Durham, he has dedicated the past 28 years to faithfully serving the City of Portsmouth. Although we are saddened to see him go, IAFF Local 4039 is honored to host his retirement party.

Initially hired as a Firefighter/AEMT, Todd Germain steadily rose through the ranks. Among many other accomplishments, during his career he obtained his paramedic license, was promoted to Lieutenant, then to Captain, and ultimately to the Chief of Department. He has always been an active union member. First with the Portsmouth Professional Firefighters, Local 1313, and currently with the Portsmouth Professional Fire Officers, Local 4039, serving in numerous leadership positions in both organizations. Todd has consistently shown his dedication to the profession and those we serve throughout his career. We are proud to call him a ‘brother’.
